Hello,

When editing a collaborator's permissions, the co-owner option is visible but deselected as an option.

Any idea on how to fix this to add a co-owner?

Hi Sandra,

Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

Please be advised that only editor, owner, or co-owner in a file or folder, you can modify the access levels of other collaborators.

If you are trying to edit a collaborator's permission, and the access level is greyed out, you may not have the necessary permissions to modify that user's access level. You may need to reach out to the owner of the collaborative folder to make these changes.

Check out this article to learn more on modifying collaborator's permissions:  https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196273-Managing-Collaborators#modifycollaborator

Hi Frances,

I am the owner of the folder, am creating the folder, and adding the collaborators.  I still not able to add a co-owner.  Any additional direction you can provide?

Hi Sandra,

Upon further checking, I see that your profile is linked to a Personal Lite Box account, and it looks like the behavior  is due to the limitations on your type of account.

Permissions such as  Editor, and Viewer are available to all account types, while Co-owner, Previewer Uploader, Viewer Uploader, Uploader, and Previewer permissions are available only to Business and Enterprise accounts.

For details, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196413-Understanding-Collaborator-Permission-Levels

Feel free to write back in if you have other questions and we will do our best to help!
