Hi! Ideally, I would like to send clients a link to upload their documents to a specific folder in Box, but I do not want the clients to have access to this folder or to the company's Box. I just want them to be able to upload the file to avoid being the middle-man. If this is possible, can the clients upload personal information and trust that the process is encrypted (i.e. uploading a passport)? Thank you!

Hi Natalie,

Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

Certainly! This is possible using the " Box File request" feature. Box File Request gives you a fast and secure way to request and obtain files, plus associated metadata, from anyone.  Using an easy, drag-and-drop graphic interface, you create a Web form that enables you to:

  • Securely request files from people without adding collaborators on a folder
  • Gather additional information with metadata attribute fields, which you can set as required/optional
  • Enable extra security and email validation with link settings
  • Kick off automated workflows using Box Relay

The following article explains how to use File Request and how to quickly build a Web form you can use to collect documents even from those who do not have a Box account:

Feel free to write back in if you have other questions, and I will do my best to assist you!

Regards,
