Can someone help me - is box capable of check in and check out process, so if someone has a file checked out that no one else can make changes to it until it is checked back in?

    Hi Christy,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

I don't believe we have a feature or function to  check in and check you out on making changes in a file, however what we have is the "Lock and unlock" feature.

To learn more about this feature, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697174-Locking-Unlocking-Files

    Hope it helps!

    Best,
