I need to change the name of the default Box Sync folder, or at the very least remove the space in the folder name. The article I found here

https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696674-Modifying-the-Location-of-the-Box-Sync-Folder

Says

But the link takes me right back to the main support page.

Does anyone know how to find the administrator customization settings to change that folder name?

Hi Janette,

Welcome to the Box Community! I'm happy to help.

This just changes the folder location, but your plan does not have his option to change the folder name.

The link would be available for admins of paid business accounts.

Best,

I'm in the same situation. I have Box.com through the university where I'm a professor (hence a paid account), and I'm installing Box Sync to have all my files synced to my local drive. However, the desktop client does not let me chose the name of the folder, just the location. This is really annoying. I have had many problems in the past with spaces in filenames, and it's even worse to have the base directory with a filename. What should I do?

I have just discovered that the space in the folder name is a major issue moving forward as well. I'm transferring an application to a different workstation and I have a script to migrate that runs to create output files based on a specific file type needed for a job. I have never been able to get it to work on Box.com folders. I've always had a "manual" workflow to move the files to Box after the output runs using File Explorer. In the process of trying to get it to work again, I've found that the space in the main sync folder name is the culprit.

What is the work-around to get get rid of the space in the name?

This is a problem for me as well. Trying to access my Box Sync folder through terminal scripts does not work with the space. I'm confused why they chose this default name for this reason and it would be great to have a work around.
