By any chance, did you sign up with Box using your email(1)? If yes, you can no longer link an email that's already registered with Box.
If not, is there an error message you could share in this forum?

I signed-up with email2 ... email1 was/is not already registered.
email3 was certainly not registered, but I could not link to that either.
The entire second paragraph described the error message;
the popup-err-msg + HTTP-response (400) with JSON-looking text
Just tried to link email1 again ... my email2 Box-acct is now/still in a broken state.
The same way as before: cannot link to any email address; only failure.
BONUS-INFO: recover-password for email1 does NOT send any recover-email.
MORE-BONUS-INFO: no, not even in the junk-spam folder.
