Hello,

I have multiple apps that use ftp.box.com. I am using WinSCP to make the FTP calls to Box. Many of these applications have been in place for a year or more, all using the same credentials (username and password) and have not changed.

Yesterday, Monday Feb 6, 2023, across all of our apps that use FTP, we started receiving "Authentication Failed" error messages when trying to connect, and has been happening ever since. We have changed nothing on our end (to my knowledge), so I am wondering if there is something that changed that maybe I was unaware of? Error is below:

WinSCP.SessionRemoteException: Authentication failed.

at WinSCP.SessionLogReader.Read(LogReadFlags flags) at WinSCP.ElementLogReader.Read(LogReadFlags flags) at WinSCP.SessionElementLogReader.Read(LogReadFlags flags) at WinSCP.CustomLogReader.TryWaitForNonEmptyElement(String localName, LogReadFlags flags) at WinSCP.CustomLogReader.WaitForNonEmptyElement(String localName, LogReadFlags flags) at WinSCP.Session.WaitForGroup() at WinSCP.Session.Open(SessionOptions sessionOptions) at AutoHub.Program.Main(String[] args)

Hi there,

Welcome to Box Community!

We'll have someone from Box Product Support to contact you directly. I've opened a new case and please lookout for your email.

Thanks for posting!

What is the solution for this issue?  I, too, need the settings for WINSCP to download from Box.com.

Thanks,

Gary
