Can I disable BOX activation with ctrl + alt + shift + B?

I'm using ctrl + alt + shift + B as a shortcut for Adobe Illustrator, so I want to disable BOX launch.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Box Community!

These keys do not work to disable Box, rather when you type in these keys in a Windows system, it will open Box Drive's (let's say you have it installed) search function.

Please take a look at this article for more information on using Keyboard shortcuts for Box: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044194873-Using-Keyboard-Shortcuts-for-Box

Best,

I think you misunderstood the original posters question. The question is "How do I disable the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Shift + B?"

I need the answer to this question as well. I can't figure out how to DISABLE Box shortcuts. Box shortcuts are conflicting with my Adobe programs shortcuts and it is driving me crazy. I will need to uninstall Box from my desktop and not use Box storage any more if I am unable to disable Box shortcuts.

P.S. "ctrl + alt + shift + B" is the problem shortcut for me too

To disable Box Drive keyboard shortcuts, you can modify the Windows registry by creating a DWORD entry called GlobalHotKeyCharacter with a value of 0 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Box\Box. After making this change, rebooting Box Drive will apply the modification.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Open Registry Editor: Press the Windows key + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to the Box folder: Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Box\Box
  3. Create the DWORD entry: Right-click on the right side, select "New" -> "DWORD (32-bit) Value".
  4. Name the entry: Name the new value GlobalHotKeyCharacter
  5. Set the value: Double-click the new entry and set its value to 0
  6. Reboot Box Drive: Restart Box Drive for the changes to take effect.

That’s worked for me!
