Can App Users access/use Box Sync?

I noticed earlier that the sdk allows App Users to change the sync_state on files and folder but I am not sure if they can install/access Box Sync with their app user account. Is this possible or do we need 'real' box users to unlock the Sync functionality?

    Unfortunately, App Users don't have access to Box Sync. This is a feature designed for Managed Users. Logging into Box Sync requires a username and password, but there's no current way to set a password for an App User.

     

    Here is a potential workaround. If you need a way for an App User to get access to content uploaded through Box Sync, you can upload files as a Managed User to a folder that you collaborate an App User on.
