Bug fixes only the current api URL

I'm a little concerned that changes to the api could greatly impact our add on product if big changes were to happen.  Is there a notion that the current api url will only get bug fixes and that another url may come out that will include changes?  I think currently its at V2 at the end of the URL so I assume the next beta version of the api  will be at V3?

    In addition to bug fixes, we will be adding new functionality to the V2 version of the API. 

     

    If there are any breaking changes to a specific endpoint, we will give advanced notice. We will share these API upcoming updates through email and our API changelog.

    I just want to make sure I am subscribed via email to get those updates...is there a particular place that I should be doing that?
