Box zip_download API

A 404 indicates that the user associated with your access token does not own or collaborate on the content you're trying to download. To confirm which user is associated with your token, I recommend using the get current user endpoint. To resolve this error you will either need to obtain a token for a user that already has access or add this user as a collaborator.

I am able to download individual files using the API but not the zip download. The zip download simply returns an empty zip file. 

Hmm that's strange. Would you be able to provide your client ID (aka api key) so I can take a look at our backend logs for more info?

Apologies for the delay - yes, a client ID is safe to share. The client secret is what you need to keep safe :)
