We have this issue and noticed a previous post about it,

I've noticed that when our users invite others to a shared file, our licenses/seats are taken however the users they are sharing with only require access to the file and do not require a licenced account.

Is there a way to prevent users sharing files with set domains, or to prevent the link being sent internally to enable a user to created a seated account?

Hi Jacqueline,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

You must be inviting email addresses without an account with Box. Note that inviting a non-Box email to collaborate will automatically creates an account with Box. (https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043693694-Collaboration-Invites-Create-An-Account)

You can prevent this by only inviting email addresses with an existing Box account.

Thanks for posting!

The issue is that we need to be able to share links with users and not automatically share invites. How can we share links only and not share files that offer links to set up accounts?

The issue that we are having is that users with accounts invite users with a GWRR Domain and this creates a costed account
