Box Tools installed but not recognized by Box

I logged on this morning and attempted to open a PPT but it said I needed to install box tools. When I tried, my computer said the program is already installed. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, and the same thing is happening. Box won't recognize the program, and when I checked the task manager Box Edit is running but there is no Box Local Com Windows Service. I've run every update, cleared my browser cache, tried different browsers, restarted, checked configurations - I've done everything recommended. My IT department can't figure out the problem either. Please help me.

My company is having a similar problem and we would like to know what was done to help Rona.  We already have a case open.

I have a similar problem as well. The Web App is not recognizing that I already have Box Tools installed on my laptop. It prompts me to download Box Tools when I already have it. This has been going on for a while. II have tried all the recommended fixes.

I just opened another support ticket. I think I am on my third or fourth one on this incredibly frustrating issue.
