Box Sync on computer cannot access credential manager

Hello,

I am having an issue where on boot, box sync will not be logged in. When I log in, it gives me the following error:

"Unable to log in

Box Sync was unable to access your Credential Manager to securely store your log in details. Please ensure Box Sync has access to your Credential Manager and log in again."

I went to credential manager and the box sync login info is saved there.

Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

To resolve this issue, can you please follow the steps below:

  1. Quit Box Sync from running on your machine
  2. Go to Windows Explorer and type in the Search Files and Folders "RegEdit", and open RegEdit
  3. Go to Key Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Box\BoxSync
  4. Add a new DWORD named UseWin32CryptoKeyring and set the value to 1 Reply Click out
  5. Restart your machine
  6. Launch Box Sync

If the issue persist after you follow steps above, you may need to uninstall and reinstall Box Sync or you may find using Box Drive instead as an alternative solution.
