I have this issue at least once/week, where I turn my laptop on and Box Sync won't log in. There's no notification, so I don't notice the problem until it's clear something isn't syncing (e.g.: a colleague can't access a file that I saved), and I finally see that the blue Box icon in the taskbar is still grey.

If I right-click the icon, the only option is to quit Box Sync. If I restart Box Sync, I'm prompted to log-in by entering my credentials (either username and password, or single sign-on). Whichever way I choose, Box verifies device security first, then just hangs indefinitely at the 'Logging In' screen, below:

The problem doesn't go away when I restart the laptop, or when I use the 'repair' option from the Box Sync installer. Uninstalling/reinstalling Box Sync works, but only if I:

  • manually delete everything from the hidden AppData folder, i.e.: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Box Sync, and

  • manually delete everything from the Box Sync folder location - i.e.: C:\Users\[username]\Box Sync - meaning I have to resync it all again

Please advise on a permanent repair, as this is wasting a lot of time. Thank you.
