Box Mobile App - Editing Spreadsheet

You might not have the necessary permission to open and edit contents shared to you. You need to contact the owner of the file and request to be invited as an "Editor" or "Co-owner" in the folder or file to be able to make edits.

I am the owner of the spreadsheet and able to edit. Is this just a difference because it is a mobile app and not online?

Have you already downloaded a third-party app to edit your office files?

You will need to install apps such as Microsoft Office or Documents To Go app  to open and edit your office files. Once you have the appropriate application to edit your files installed, the "arrow" icon at the bottom should allow you to open the file in Box on editor app.
