We have released a new version of Box Drive with a completely new architecture on macOS with Apple File Provider Extensions (FPE).  This new version of Box Drive provides more seamless and secure access for Box Drive on Intel and Apple silicon devices and no longer requires use of kernel extensions.

yeah, those installation instruction don't work. 

My installation on Monterey doesn't function at all. There's no menu bar icon, no finder extension, nothing. Just Box Drive taking up CPU cycles in Activity Monitor.
