In Box for Salesforce, does the federated search function actually search the content/body of the Box file? I'm assuming it does but cannot find confirmation that it searches more than just the file name. Any help would be great appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, your hunch is correct. Also allow me to add that it would have to be a supported file type:
- File Content Searching: The content within your files is also stored within the Box search index.
