While I know Box Drive's whole goal is not just cloud computing, but how can I used box drive on a Mac without downloading files?  I know I can Unsync them, but then I cannot access the files using Finder.

Is it possible to have files remain in the cloud only, yet access them via finder in the Box folder?

I have zero need for offline access, and a far greater need for my SSD space back.

Hi Joel,

Welcome to Box Community.

In Using Box Drive everything that you have on the cloud will sync on your desktop.

Please note, Box Drive does locally cache files that you have opened. Box Drive's cache size limit is based on your free disk space (50% of available space) and has a maximum limit of 25 GB. If you reach this limit, Box Drive begins removing files, starting with those files that have gone the longest without your accessing them. Also, if a cached file has a new version created on Box, Box Drive discards the locally cached version.

So, basically you are saying box.com cannot be a cloud and instead I have to keep my files local.  Guess Ill switch to something else.
