Hello Box Drive will not open PDFs

No error message, just flashes, but does not open

Odd. You might try rebooting Box and see what happens.

 I keep seeing Box replies like this which don’t allow the rest of us to find a solution. What’s the point of allowing public questions but not sharing the answers publicly?

I just want to know the fix too...

Thanks for reaching out. If you haven’t done so already, please try the following troubleshooting steps.


First, please check whether this happens only with PDFs or with other file types as well. If it is only affecting PDFs, I recommend trying the following in order:

  1. Update Box Drive to the latest version.

  2. If you use Box Tools or browser-based open actions, update Box Tools as well.

  3. Try opening the same PDF from Box web using Adobe Acrobat web.

  4. Test a different PDF and, if possible, a different local PDF application.

  5. If you are on Windows, try opening the PDF directly from File Explorer with a supported desktop PDF app, since some Windows Store apps may not work properly with Box Drive files.

  6. If the issue may be browser-related, clear your browser cache, disable extensions, or test in another browser or on another computer.

 

If the issue persists, please submit a ticket to our Product Support for further assistance.
