When will Box Drive be supported on ARM-based processor devices like the Windows Surface?
Hi Ryan,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!
As of this writing, Box Drive is not supported on ARM-based Windows PCs and nothing we can confirm yet if this feature will be made available in the future.
Meanwhile, you can submit this as a feature request via pulse.box.com.
Thanks for posting!
Box Team,
We’ve waited patiently for years as ARM has gone mainstream, and now that a public beta is finally announced—it’s nearly useless for business users.
The no PII clause in the beta agreement makes it impossible to test Box in any realistic business scenario. This isn't a beta—it feels like an alpha with legal disclaimers. As a former fintech professional who worked in software for a decade, I know what a real beta should offer: functionality with known bugs, not complete limitations on meaningful use.
Other users are frustrated too. Your forums are filled with long-standing complaints on the lack of ARM support. Meanwhile, platforms like SharePoint already support ARM in production. We're now forced to consider alternatives.
Please give us a clear, honest answer:
-
When will real-world ARM support arrive?
-
When will these crippling limitations (like the PII ban) be lifted?
We have been very patient - Box’s business users deserve better or we will be forced to seek alternatives like SharePoint that most all of us (biz users) “already pay for” and do not use.
