I run a Mac on OS High Sierra 10.13.6

The Box app worked just fine until yesterday. Mac ran a security upgrade and now it no longer works giving me the error message above. I did enable Box in the Security settings. It still doesn't work. I hope an upgrade by Box can fix this.

I have the same issue running OSX 10.14.6 Mojave.   This morning was prompted for Box Drive update, and it broke. Doesn't even show up as option to enable Box extension in Security - or I'm not seeing it.

I have another Mac running 10.14.6 with Box Drive that is not updated, and it runs perfectly.

I installed, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, still no help on the troubled Mac.

Box, please allow an older version of Box Drive to work - I reinstalled the previous version after uninstall in Terminal and reboot, but it still won't launch box drive.

Hi Markus and Lusid,

Welcome to the Box Community!

Can you confirm if your Mac is running on  Apple’s New M1 Chip?

If yes, at the moment, Box Drive is not supported on Apple devices running on the M1 chipset. This has been updated to our Known Product Issues article.

Our Engineering team is actively working to add support for the M1 chip on Box Drive. A Beta is planned in early 2021 for our Enterprise customers. In the meantime, you can access your Box content on Apple Silicon devices via the Box web application by logging into  (https://app.box.com).

Best,

Hi France -

I am running Box Drive on a 2015 iMac running intel i7 quad core chipset.  So it's not related to Big Sur or M1 chips.

From what I know, M1 chips cannot run Mojave 10.14.6, they are too new.

Any recommendations?

Hi Lusid,

Thanks for checking on this.

Seems this will require our Box Support team to work directly with you and it looks like you already have opened a ticket for this issue.

Please continue working with our support team and check your email for updates.

Thanks for your patience and please comeback and let us know how it goes.

I have the same question.
In my case I just ran an update from High Sierra to Mojave
Similar alerts are now issued. When you start the BOX app.
Please respond.
