Hi,
Can anyone please provide some details about multiple users modifying the same Excel file from within Microsoft Excell desktop app? I know it can be done with the Excel online (web version) but that doesn't seem to be an option to some of our users that they rely on the Excel Desktop version.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Simultaneous editing using your Microsoft Desktop apps is currently not supported.
If you have multiple users editing a file, it is best practice to have one user make their changes with file locked. Once changes are saved and file is closed by user, another user will then see those changes and be able to open and make their changes.

If you really need that ability to edit a file concurrently with other users, you can use Office online instead as it supports real-time co-authoring: Box and Office Online
