There is a user upload/download bandwidth limit of 1TB/month, but does Box drive synchronization count toward this limit? If anyone knows, please let me know. thank you.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Box Community! I'm happy to help.

Box Drive is not actually downloading each folder's contents. Instead, it downloads enough metadata to show the item locally and only downloads an entire file if the user opens it. This behavior of only downloading the metadata and not the content is called fetching and it helps save bandwidth and disk usage, so if you stop on opening the file or copying it from the Box folder, it should not take your bandwidth.

You can check this article for additional information:

Thank you for your reply, AJ.
I understand that immediately after synchronization, only metadata information is not counted in the bandwidth limit.
If I select a file, does that mean it will be downloaded and counted towards my bandwidth limit?
