Last week, all the folders in my account disappeared unexpectedly. Does anyone know how I can find out what happened? Also, how can I get in touch with the Box support team for assistance?

Hi @Vivian Chan

Welcome to Box Community, and we’ll help find your missing folders.

Do you recall having these folders as one of your collaborated folders? If your answer is yes, kindly reach out to the folder owner regarding your access.

You might have been removed to the folder, --- such as your access has expired.

Meanwhile, if your looking for your own folders please check out trash.

To search through your Trash folder:

  1. Navigate to your Trash folder.
  2. Toward the top, click the Search Files and Folders
  3. In the box that displays, enter any search parameters.
  4. Check Only search inside of “Trash.”
  5. Press Enter.

To sort and filter all items within the trash folder:

You can filter content by items you own, or by items you’ve deleted.  To do this, directly beneath the folder label (Trash), click the Items I Own (or Items I Deleted) down arrow.  Then click the option you want.

  • The Items I deleted filter displays all items you have deleted, regardless of who created or owns the item.
  • The Items I own filter displays all deleted items you own, regardless of who deleted the item.

If the folders are in trash, please go ahead and restore them.

The steps below apply whether you’re selecting from search results or from all Trash items.

  1. Hover to highlight the row of the item you want. The More Options ellipsis () displays.
  2. Click the ellipsis (...).  Then:
    • To return the item to its original location in Box, click Restore.
  3. At the prompt, click Okay.
