API account not showing the content

Hi there

Our API service account was given viewer access to an external box folder, and box.com automatically accepted the invitation, but when I go to the content manager, the new folder is not showing under our API account. Any idea?

Welcome to the Box Community!

This is expected behavior as mentioned in this article on Using Content Manager:

  • For security purposes, if a managed user is collaborating on content owned by an external user, an admin cannot use Instant Login or Content Manager to access this content.
