I am getting “Account storage limit reached” even though I’ve deleted everything and emptied the trash. All the similar support topics result in a ticket being filed. Please help.

To resolve this error:
- Identify the folder owner and check their storage usage.
- Have the owner clear space by deleting unnecessary files and emptying the trash.
- Alternatively, an admin can increase the user’s storage allocation via the Admin Console under Users & Groups by editing the storage quota for that user.
- For personal pro and free personal users, they can reach out to our Billing team (billing@box.com) to increase their storage.
The “account storage limit reached” error occurs when the owner of the parent folder where a document is being uploaded has used up their allocated storage space.

Please note that uploaders are also subject to this error if the folder owner has reached his/her storage allocation.

The issue is resolved. After a day, my account’s storage used value updated to reflect the files I deleted.
