Accessing Box from China

Thanks for your post and for following up on this topic. The best route as mentioned before in other posts are using VPNs for Box Sync, but other applications may have better success such as Box Mobile. Box Notes on the other hand may not have much success.

Appreciate your follow up and again VPN and the other unique domains may be your best bet.

I only use Box Sync on laptop and Box APP on iphone.

So you think Box APP on iphone would have access when I am in China for the trip? If so, I should be good as far as I can use boxcn.net for web access of my files on laptop.

Were you able to use Box in China in the end? Trying to find a feasible way to share video content with those in China since YouTube is out. Thanks.

Welcome to the Box Community and thanks for your first post in the forum!

If you have users that need to access Box in China, you can have them access our site using https://app.boxcn.net (please make sure to connect with https).

When you generate the shared links while logged in to this URL, the shared link will be changed to https://app.boxcn.net/s/  (alphanumeric characters) which will be accessible in China.

Alternatively, you can also use VPN services as recommended by some of our members on this thread.

does the  https://app.boxcn.net offer the same level of security as the normal box site?

Thanks for posting in the Box Community! The site you've referenced does indeed offer the same level of security, albeit at a possibly lower speed since it does not utilize upload accelerators. Unfortunately https://www.boxcn.net does not work in China. We were told that using a qq.com email would be one way to access Box but this doesn't work either. Apart from using a VPN (not an option), is there ANY way to access a Box data room in China? Thank you!

I have new users based in mainland China who need accounts set up in Box. I've already sent them the account.boxcn.net alternative link in an attempt to set up their accounts. Unfortunately, as a part of setting up an account, new users have to validate their identify with reCAPTCHA. Reading through other forums, reCAPTCHA is not supported in China as reCAPTCHA communicates with Google. Google is not fully supported in mainland China. 

Is there an alternative procedure to set up new accounts in mainland China that does not use reCAPTCHA validation?

boxcn.net still does not seem to work in china.  Also cannot use a VPN.... 

Hello all, it's been 6 months since the last post... does anyone know if user in China can access Box online or using Box Drive on Windows?
