I'm new to Box and am starting to add external users to shared folders and both invited users thus far have received a 403 "Your client does not have permission to get URL..." error when Chrome was used to open the invitation link.  These new users copied the invitation link to Safari and were then able to access.

Is there something I need to do differently?  I'm about to add hundreds of external users and don't want to have to go through discussion with all of these people.  Please help!

Could you post what the resolution was here? We are experiencing the same issue for a new external user today (just one so far). This has not occurred before for us to my knowledge. Thanks!

Although I haven't yet tested, below is what I received.

I wish I would just work.  I envision too many non-billable calls from clients needing hand holding through the process.

Either way, here is the solution I was provided from Customer Success:

Upon checking the screenshot, it seems that the error is coming from Google and not from Box. Since the error is outside of Box, our support is limited in fixing this specific error. However, I can provide a simple workaround through this so the user can access the folder that you're sharing.

Can you please ask the user to first create a free account through this link. Once they've created their account, please ask them to login to their account and follow the steps below to set their account to auto-accept collaboration invites:

1.      Click the circular icon on the top right to open the Account Menu

2.      Click Account Settings

3.      Under Sharing Tab, scroll down to the Collaborating on Content section

4.      Check the box beside Automatically accept incoming collaboration invite

5.      Click the Save Changes button at the top right

Once they've saved the setting, please try resending the Collaboration Invite to the user. After receiving the invite, please ask them to login back to the Box webpage and check the All Files section to check if they are able to see the folder.

Thanks appreciate you sending that. Hopefully this workaround actually works!
