I have the free 50gb box account. Using this free account can I have 2 emails that are registered to this account? Do I need to have a personal plan account? Will that allow me to have 2 emails?

Yes, you could add an additional email address for your Box account.
To add an email address:
- Click Add More Emails.
- Enter a valid email address.
- Click Save.
An email verification will be sent to the address you entered. Click the verification link in the email to confirm and add the alternate email to you account.
