What's new with this launch:
With this release, Box Zones expands to 10 regions with three brand-new Zones:

Additionally, France and Canada - which currently only offer in-region storage will soon have in-region processing (compute) for core content operations: uploads, downloads, encryption, previews, and zipping. Your content isn't just sitting in the right place. It's being worked on in the right place.
The full 10-region footprint: Australia, Canada, the European Union, France, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
How it works:
Administrators can set a default Zone for the organisation or assign individual users to specific Zones. Box handles content migration automatically in the background - no disruption to end users, no manual file moves. Zone assignment can be managed via the Admin Console, Multizones SSO (automatic assignment based on identity provider attributes), or the Box Developer API.
Collaboration works exactly as it always has. A file lives in the Zone of the person who owns it. Colleagues in other regions can share, preview, comment, and co-edit without any additional configuration.

Box Zones is available on Enterprise Plus and Enterprise Advanced plans — one price, access to all 10 regions, no additional per-region fees.
What's coming next:
Box has announced plans to bring in-region processing for custom metadata later in 2026, with in-region compute for Box AI, workflow, and search following in 2027.
