Can someone please confirm if my teammates need to purchase box subscription of their own in order to access the link shared with them or is there any workaround.

When they are trying to access the link they are getting the below error.

👋 Hi @Naveen R, welcome to the Box Community!

The error message “You are not authorized to access Box” typically originates from your organization rather than from Box itself.

Your enterprise has likely enabled SSO, and the issue is most likely due to a misconfiguration in the user's SSO settings. Kindly reach out to your organization's IT team or admin to confirm whether their Box login credentials are correctly linked to SSO.

👉 Regarding sharing: if you invite someone to collaborate on a file or folder, they’ll need a Box account to log in. Box offers a Free Individual account, which allows users to collaborate without requiring a paid subscription.

Alternatively, you can use the shared links feature. Unlike collaboration, individuals accessing content via a shared link will have “read-only” access and won’t be able to make changes to your files. Signing in to Box is not required for this type of access.
