Single Box Link for Downloading & Uploading Files without an account?

Is there any way to provide a single Box link to end-users so that they can download files & upload files without a Box account?

Right now it looks like we have to use 2 links to do that:

To share documents to allow others to view and download content that you send to them
Box Shared Links:

To share a link where users can upload files into
Box File Request:

👋 Hi @boxuser34, welcome to the Box Community!

Box currently does not support a single link for both downloading and uploading without an account. These actions are separated for security reasons: Shared Links allow anyone with the link to view or download content, while File Requests allow users to upload files without seeing the folder’s contents. One exposes content, the other hides it.

Your current approach is a recommended method when users prefer not to create a Box account.

To add, shared Links set to “People with the link” provide read‑only access and don’t require a Box account. If you need users to both upload and download in the same folder, you may consider inviting them as collaborators. Collaboration does require a Box account though, but users can sign up for a Free Individual account to collaborate with other users.

You may also want to submit this as a feature request on Box Pulse. Our Product Team actively reviews customer feedback, and sharing your use case helps guide future improvements to Box features and services.

Thanks, and have a great day ahead!
