Hi! I am trying to see if it’s possible in the desktop version of Excel when saving back to Box, to tag their my team via the Microsoft directory in specific cells. Unfortunately Box doesn’t allow me to do this. Is there a workaround? TYIA!

If you are referring to @mention and tagging your team members/someone, this feature is not currently available. Box's @mention feature can only be used in the preview mode of a file. For more information, please visit Adding Comments and Tasks.
As a workaround, you can @mention someone in a specific cell and then @mention them again in Box Preview mode to notify them of pending comments. When the user opens the document in Excel or Box, they will see the comments with the mentions (or search for their name) and can respond or take action.
Our Product team is always working to improve Box based on user feedback. I recommend submitting your ideas or upvoting this feature request in Box Pulse: use @mention in the Office suites of software (Words, Excel, PowerPoint). The Product Team is exploring this feature as a possibility for our future roadmap.
