Hey! Hope all is good, my peers have been encountering an issue with box showing a red exclamation point when trying to upload files. They tried retrying the action, but it didn’t work.

When trying to upload the same documents via browser, this pop-up appeared:

She removed the word “Store” from the folder and it worked. Can you explain why this happened?

Hi @Daniela Araya, welcome to the Box Community!

When it comes to folder naming and uploads, several factors can lead to a failed upload. Box does not support '/' and '\' anywhere in a file or folder name or white spaces at the beginning or end of a file or folder name. Since the issue was resolved by removing “Store,” it’s possible there was a leading space in the name.

If you encounter this again in the future, please ensure that the file name is valid. Box only supports file or folder names that are 255 characters or less. File names containing non-printable ascii, "/" or "\", names with leading or trailing spaces, and the special names “.” and “..” are also unsupported. Box supports only Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane 0 (BMP) characters in file and folder names.

You can refer to the Troubleshooting Uploads to Box guide to learn more.
