Question

5GB file size limit to shared folder

Hello!

I am currently a Free user but am considering upgrading to Personal Pro.

If I upgrade, can you confirm that my new 5GB file size limit will apply to collaborators (Free tier) when they upload to folders I own?

Additionally, will these uploads count toward my 100GB storage quota instead of theirs?

Thank you!

👋 Hi @JoeSon, welcome to the Box Community! Great to have you here, and I’m glad to hear you’re interested in upgrading.

Once you upgrade to a Personal Pro account, your collaborators will be able to upload files up to 5 GB when uploading to a folder you own. Additionally, any storage used in that folder will count toward your account, not theirs.

As outlined in our article:

How these upload limits are enforced
Be aware shared folders enforce the file size limit that applies to the Folder Owner's plan, regardless of whether any of the collaborators within the folder have a higher limit.
