First day with Box. I’m trying to add users and getting this error.

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist!

It seems that the person or email address you’re trying to add as managed user has an existing Box paid account. The affected user should reach out to his/her primary Admin and have the account deleted

 

However, if account deletion is not an option you could reach out to the Box Product Support team for additional assistance.

Hi. 

First day with Box.com .We acquired several licenses for our company.

I’m trying to open a case, there is no option I can find to do that.

I’m adding another user and getting error “User belongs to another enterprise” looks like this user is still attached to the time we had a trial from box.

There is no way to create a ticket, I need help.

The “User belongs to another enterprise” error usually means the user already has a Box account under another enterprise.


Please note that users with Business accounts cannot be invited directly.


To resolve:

  • The user needs to contact their primary admin to have the account deleted so the email address can be released.
  • If the user is part of an expired trial account and the admin can no longer access it, that admin should contact our Billing team at billing@box.com from their admin email to request account dismantling.
    • Once completed, the users will be downgraded to Free Individual accounts and can then be invited to another enterprise.
  • For new Business accounts, support options may take 24–48 hours to appear.
    If you still can’t submit a ticket after signing in to support page, you can use this form to open a case.
