When I try to use Box AI to query content in a Box Hub, I get the message:

“This content is currently unavailable for AI. Please check back later.”

Hi @Troy Boroughs 👋 Welcome to Box Community! Thanks for bringing this up. To help us determine the cause of the issue, can you answer few questions:

  • Have you already tried another content query using Box AI let’s say after 30 mins or so? Is the issue resolved or you got the same error message?
  • Is the error being encountered by other users accessing the same Hub?
  • Also, is the error reflects on another Hub/s (if there’s any)?

Hi @JeyBueno Box !  We just discovered the issue.  If a Box Hub is created *before* you enable Box AI, Box AI is unable to query that hub.  We were able to reproduce it with multiple users and multiple hubs.  I’m not sure if there is a way to get Box AI to retroactively recognize a Box Hub that was created before Box AI was enabled, but the problem does not exist for new hubs that we created after Box AI was enabled.

Dear @Troy Boroughs, that does the trick! Glad to know that you were able to reproduce it.

For the time being, if you enable Hubs first then AI later, Hubs that are created in the "between" time need to be reindexed. Having said that, you may submit a support ticket to our Product Support as this requires a manual process to reindex.

We’ll definitely consider this as a feedback to retroactively recognize a Box Hub that was created before Box AI was enabled. You may want to post this idea to help us shape the future of Box. 💡
