Terminating All User Sessions

We recently had an employee leave and their Box Drive folder on their computer remained connected to our instance. This resulted in them deleting some sensitive documents. We used the API to terminate all of their sessions. The result returned successful but clearly it didn’t work. Is there an API call we need to use to disconnect devices after a person leaves or does this need to be done manually?
