Question

Our domain name and email addresses are changing.

Is there a way to change our account to reflect the domain name and email addresses at the same time keeping our existing Box File system/organization? It seems I might be able to some of this as an Admin but not sure about the domain name change. We will also be adding 2 new seats once we have the new domain name squared away.

Thanks,

Laurene

👋 Hi @Laurene, welcome to the Box Community!

I’d be glad to assist with updating your domain and email address. For an in‑depth look at how to use this tool, please see our Domain Management, Verification, and Auto Enrollment article.

You may also want to check out this relevant topic in our community:

Once your new domain is claimed, you can proceed with updating the users’ email addresses. The Configuring and Editing Users guide provides the steps. Users’ authority levels, owned folders and files, and any shared links won’t be affected when their email address is changed.

If you’re having issues with the domain name or email change, please submit a ticket to our Product Support.

For purchasing new seats, see the Adding Seats To My Account guide. You may also email our Billing Team at billing@box.com if you need further assistance adding seats.

Looking forward to getting this sorted out!

Hi Jey,

I added the new domain complete with the required Box DNS record (at GoDaddy). However, I’m stuck on “2 step verification required” on my Box Admin. It wants a 6-digit code from “the email sent to your email address.” Is this my GoDaddy email or my Box email?

Thanks.

Laurene

Hi @Laurene, thanks for getting back to me.

The email has been sent to your registered Box admin email address. If you don’t see the verification code in your inbox, please take a quick look in your spam folder. If it’s still not there, we can open a ticket so our Product Support team can help you with the domain change.

In the meantime, feel free to reach out if anything else comes up.

Hi Jey,

It turns out my email was being ‘suppressed’ so I wasn’t getting the code. That’s been remedied.

Thanks, domain is added and verified.
