Can I use Microsoft coauthoring via Box Drive? My users tend to prefer to use Box Drive over the web app but I want to ensure my teams are collaborating in real time, seamlessly.

Yep - MS coauthoring works seamlessly whether using local Box Drive (and corresponding native Office apps) or Online Box Drive and the MS Online apps. All of it is in real time :-)
