Hello,

I am working for a company trying to build an integration with Box for our product.

I would like to know if there are options for an enterprise ment just for testing our integrations work? The main problems are extra paid features we cant test without paying for.

Hi @GuyEld, welcome to the Box Community! I’d be glad to assist.

Here's what Box offers for companies building integrations:

  1. Free Developer Account

    • Box offers a free developer account as a starting point that lets developers get familiar with the Box APIs and developer tools. This is a good first step, but it won't give you access to paid/enterprise features.

  2. Developer Sandboxes (requires a paid business plan or above)

    • This is the most relevant option for your situation. Developer sandboxes are isolated environments tied to a paid Box enterprise account that:

      • Mirror your production plan — including all paid add-ons (e.g., Box Shield, Zones, etc.)

      • Allow admins to sync the sandbox with production so the same paid features are activated for testing

      • Support up to 10 sandboxes per enterprise

      • Include up to 100K API calls/month for development and testing

📌 The key caveat: sandboxes require a Box Business plan or above — they are not available on free accounts. The sandbox reflects whatever plan your enterprise has, so if you need to test specific paid features, your enterprise would need to be on the plan that includes those features.

Currently, there is no special free enterprise tier specifically for integration testing that includes paid features. The sandbox environment is the official path, but it requires your company to be on a paid Box plan that includes the features you want to test.
