Would you happen to know why our JCB Purchasing Card is not being accepted by the Box payment system?

Dear Box Community Team,

Thank you for your message.

Although I have already contacted Box support directly, I have not yet found a clear solution, so I wanted to consult here as well.

I would appreciate it if you could kindly provide a general answer:
Is it possible to use a JCB-branded credit card to make payments on Box?

To answer your question, JCB is eligible for customers located in Japan as documented in this support article: Payment Methods Accepted by Box. JCB cards are fully supported on our platform and can be used for both billing and subscription payments.


If you're still running into issues with your Box payment, please continue working with our Billing representative via the support ticket you've submitted—they’ll be able to assist you further.

Hello everyone,

My JCB card (issued in Japan) is not getting accepted on Box.com while I can see JCB logo above the card field. Anyone else facing similar issues?

JCB cards are fully supported on Box and can be used by our customers residing in Japan under the JPY currency. Before trying again, we recommend contacting your card issuer to confirm there are no holds or restrictions on the card (e.g., transaction limits, insufficient funds, mismatched card details, international charges, etc.).


I see that you’ve already opened a support ticket and that it has been escalated. If you’re still unable to register or update your card online, or you need additional assistance with your account, please reach out to our Billing Team at billing@box.com and include the affected account. They can help manually update your card information or determine whether the issue is coming from Box or the bank.


Since the JCB issue you reported is still under internal review and requires further investigation from our Payments Team, you may want to use a different credit card type in the meantime.
