👋 Hi @toida.haruhiro, welcome to the Box Community! I’d be happy to assist.
Here are the causes and solutions for the issues you are experiencing:
Unable to select “Administrator” in role settings
Cause: To change or transfer the Primary Administrator role to another managed user, both the current administrator’s email domain and the target user’s email domain must be verified in your Enterprise Settings. If the target user’s domain is unverified, the “Administrator” option will not be selectable, or you will receive a permission error when attempting the transfer.
No authentication code email received when adding a domain
Suppression list self-service: If Box notification emails ever bounce, those email addresses are automatically added to Box’s suppression list. You can now remove addresses yourself using the Suppression List Management feature.
✅ To do this, log in to your Admin Console, navigate to the Notifications settings tab, and use the Suppression List feature to check for and remove the affected email address.
Additional Email Troubleshooting:
Spam/Junk filters: Ensure that noreply@box.com is added to your email contacts or safe senders list.
Corporate IT/firewall: Have your organization’s IT department allowlist emails from the box.com, notify.box.com, reply.box.com, and track.box.com domains to ensure they are not blocked at the gateway level.
Contract status and restrictions
✅ Once the domain verification is completed, changing the primary administrator will be fully possible as scheduled. There are no contract-level restrictions (such as agent-based restrictions) that prevent a Primary Admin transfer, provided that the domain verification requirements are met and the transfer is initiated correctly through the Admin Console.
If you require additional assistance, please submit a ticket to our Product Support. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your prompt and detailed support!
I wanted to let you know that thanks to your clear instructions, I was able to successfully verify our domain and complete the Primary Admin transfer.
Using the Suppression List Management feature in the Admin Console completely resolved the issue with the missing authentication emails. Once the domain was verified, the "Administrator" option appeared in the role settings exactly as you described, and the transfer went smoothly.
Thank you so much for confirming that the domain verification and Primary Admin transfer have been successfully completed! It was a pleasure assisting you through this process.
