ファイルリクエストについて、ファイル添付を必須としないことはできるか

It is not possible to make file attachments optional (not mandatory) within a Box File Request.

By design, the primary purpose of a Box File Request is to collect files. Therefore, the file upload zone is a core, non-configurable element of the form, and the attachment-required asterisk (*) inevitably appears. You cannot disable or bypass this requirement when using the standard File Request feature.

✅ Alternative methods within Box

If you need to collect survey responses or structured information from external users without requiring them to upload a file, Box offers the following native alternatives:

• Box Forms (recommended native solution)

  • Box has introduced Box Forms, which is specifically designed for creating custom, structured intake forms natively in Box.

  • You can build a form with text fields, dropdowns, and multiple-choice questions to act as your survey.

  • While you can add a “File Upload” field to a Box Form, you can configure that specific field to be optional (not mandatory). This allows external users to submit their survey responses with or without attaching files.

  • Box Forms can automatically apply metadata to the submissions and can be integrated with Box Relay to trigger automated downstream workflows (such as document generation or approvals).
     

• Box Sign (for structured sign-offs/data collection)

  • If your survey requires a formal sign-off or structured input fields on a specific document:

    • You can use Box Sign and drag-and-drop a Signer Attachment form field onto your document template.

    • Senders can request additional documentation from signers using this field, but you can configure whether the attachment field itself is required or optional for the signer to complete the request.

You’re most welcome! Box Sign is available to business accounts, so you can test it as alternative method, but not Box Forms as this is only available in our Enterprise Advanced plan. Thank you!
