Box for Salesforce prompts me to install Box Tools.
This message appears even though I've downloaded Box Tools.
I've also tried allowing access to the local network. The following information has been added to the "Allow sites to connect to devices on the local network" section. Additional information: ・[*.]box.com ・[*.]box.net ・[*.]boxcn.net ・[*.]boxcdn.net ・[*.]boxenterprise.net

With the release of Chrome v143 and Edge v143, Local Network Access restrictions have been implemented for iframe. Box tools uses the local network access.
If you are using a VF box component in lightning you will need to switch to the Lightning component. Salesforce iframes the VF page in lightning then Box has an iframe for box embed. The top level VF iframe is controlled by Salesforce and does not request local network access and there is no way currently to get around this.
TLDR: You must use the lightning component in lightning if you want this to go away.
The Box Files tab (a vf tab) will also have this issue.

Thanks for the advice. I shared it with our Salesforce administrator and she will schedule in a switch over to the Lightening component as you suggest.
