I tried three times to purchase the upgrade for my space, but each time I get blocked with a message that says something like: “Your account needs further verification, please submit a ticket to customer support.” What should I do?

I can’t upgrade my account, it says needs verification. Can’t even find how to submit a ticket, very glitchy process. Please guide, thanks. 


Everytime I try to upgrade my Start Account I receive the error

“Your account needs further verification, please submit a ticket to customer support”

I try to pay for box and it wont let me. Need help. This is what it says when i try to pay:

To help investigate and resolve this, I recommend reaching out to our Billing team at billing@box.com. They can also assist with manually upgrading your account if needed.


For account authentication, please be sure to contact them using the email associated with the Box account you wish to upgrade. Kindly include the following details to help speed up the process:

  • Type of plan
  • Number of seats if applicable (minimum of 3 for Business and Enterprise level accounts)
  • Preferred billing frequency (monthly or annual)


It would also be best to check with your bank regarding the card status and confirm that Box is authorized for recurring subscription charges.
