We're excited to announce a new Shield detection rule to help admins rapidly identify and respond to potential ransomware attacks in their Box environment.

We are looking for participants to join our Box Shield Ransomware Activity Detection private beta, giving your Box admins a sneak peak of our new detection model monitoring activity across your Box environment.

The goal of this private beta is to get your feedback on the efficacy of our new detection model. Your participation will help us improve our detection model and ultimately bring a more refined experience when the feature is fully GA.

If you have additional questions, please refer to our FAQs or reach out in the chat below. Participation in the private beta does require a signed beta agreement.

Box partner mxHERO would love to contribute to this effort.  Given mxHERO’s role in automating email content capture into Box, Box Shield advances to thwart the risk of ransomware, business email compromise and other native risks specific to email is to be applauded and with mxHERO and Box together, customers may lower their risk profile vs. bad actor exploits.  For inbound email, mxHERO automates attachment extraction allowing for SAFE FILE PREVIEW actions for end-users (vs. blinded inbound attachment file openings), for outbound flowing email - mxHERO extends Box’s advantages with Box Shield for customers via auto-quarantine actions and an ability to improve data leakage or DLP risks, and for legacy at-rest email in end-user inboxes and email content silos, mxHERO’s ability to deploy it’s Digital Hygiene solution allows for seamless harvesting of legacy email content (including email body, metadata and attachments) for placement into Box or Box Archive(s).  Partnering up with Team Box and our customer and partner eco-system on such aims will advance our collective security and compliance posture.  Let’s go!

Thanks Don for reaching out! We’ve worked with your team to get mxHERO added to our private beta. Looking forward to collaborating with you and the team in the coming weeks.
