We're excited to announce a new security control for shared links, to help organizations better verify the identity of collaborators.

We are looking for participants to join our OTP (One-Time Passcode) for Shared Links private beta, giving your Box admins a sneak peek our new feature that adds an additional layer of verification to shared links. This feature will enable users to add one-time passcodes to their shared links, with granular controls over who the passcode will apply to. Later in the Beta, we will also be adding this control as a Smart Access control, applicable through classification labels.

The goal of this private beta is to get your feedback on the efficacy and usability of our new security controls. Your participation will help us improve both the effectiveness and the user experience of this upcoming feature, and ultimately bring a more refined experience when the feature is fully GA.

If you have additional questions, please refer to our FAQs or reach out in the chat below. Participation in the private beta does require a signed beta agreement.

Thanks for this! Can you provide a rough timeframe as to when this feature is planned for GA?

Thanks for your interest! We’re currently targeting GA within the next one to two quarters. However, the timing may shift based on participant feedback and any issues identified during the private beta.
