Great news. Classification-based access policy has been enhanced for third party AI agents accessing content in Box and is now generally available to customers with Box Shield.
AI agents don't need to download a file to exfiltrate it. If they can preview it, they can read, comprehend, and reproduce what's inside. Classification-based access policy closes that gap by giving admins a new Read restriction inside the Integration Restriction security control.
Admins can now govern what AI agents and integrations can actually read, not just what they can download, with separate rules applied by classification. It's one control, tied to the classifications customers already use, that keeps sensitive content useful for teams and safe from agents they haven't approved.
