Task assignment issue

I have created a task but I am unable to assign a task to other user.

FYI, my account type is Developer. Is it like that I am having a developer account thats why cannot assign task?

Please let me know the possible resolution for this problem?

FYI... I am using the below code

This is to create a task :

BoxTask.Action action = Action.REVIEW;
BoxTask.Info info = file.addTask(action, "Please review this file.", null);

This is to assign above task to another user:

String userID = "***number removed for privacy***3";
String taskID = "46309306";
BoxUser user = new BoxUser(api, userID);
BoxTask task1 = new BoxTask(api, taskID);
BoxTaskAssignment.Info taskInfo = task1.addAssignment(user);

Hi ,

Do you receive an error code back in the response from the API? Or any other type of error? Developer accounts aren't restricted from creating tasks.

More commonly, this can happen if the task assignee is not yet a collaborator on the file or folder. Do you know if the task assignee is a collaborator already? It may be easier to visualize the proper workflow and sequence of API calls if you try to assign a task through the UI at Box.com.
